OVERVIEW
South By South West - abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By - is an annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States.
Many people in the industry view this event as a bit of "hodge podge" of sectors mashed together. Like a millennial, it hasn't quite decided what it wants to be yet. BUT for us, it's quite clear that it's divided into three sections - interactive (agency, brands, adtech and content), film (film) and music. Every year this event increases in size and has more brand activations than the year before. We love it for the schmoozing with brands, studios and creative agencies. It also brings a wealth of knowledgeable panels and discussions to the floor.
